The writer of this article is not a hypocrite, nor do I believe that he has branded all "successful" people as soulless, loveless, and corrupt. By contrasting the extremes in society--those above ground (with money) and those forced to travel beneath the surface (as they do not fit neatly into our capitalist mold) he is making more than a literal assessment of the successful vs. the poor/lost/transient souls. It is a metaphorical conundrum--those of us who travel someplace in between, able to exist above-ground (make ends meet) yet feel the connection to the deep suffering that exists beneath and around us. The writer does not blame others for being ignorant--but rather for deliberately refusing to see the real constructs of our world. Most people live in an unconscious state, going along whatever means of transportation that serves them best, a veritable treadmill on the road toward financial salvation. For me this article is simply a call to reawaken the masses...to watch where we are going.

To Another Guy On The Train-

Your COWARDICE and idiocy is overwhelming. Avoid further embarrassment- remove your comment or finish your thoughts with some intellect- and this time- identify yourself, Mary.
